Oliver Koletzki & Retro/Grade
Zoid
Oliver Koletzki and Retro/Grade team up for “Zoid”, a long-awaited two-track collaboration rooted in classic house and 80s-inspired synths.
Based on a previously unreleased Retro/Grade tune from back in the day, “Zoid” finally gets released on October 9. The release comes in two versions, with Oliver Koletzki reworking the original into a more driving club version. Its synth-led melody adds a subtle melancholic touch, while punchy 909 drums, samples and a stripped-back arrangement keep things moving.
The second version, “Zoid (Sound Klash Mastermind Dub)”, takes the track deeper, further exploring its raw analogue character. The production draws on the SP-1200, 909 and M1, alongside tape-sliced delay feedback and classic sampling techniques.
With Retro/Grade’s history across projects including Radio Slave, Waze & Odyssey and Serge Santiago, and Oliver Koletzki’s long-standing influence on electronic music, “Zoid” brings two distinct approaches together in one focused club release.
